The birth of your baby would normally be registered within 42 days (6 weeks), however due to restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic this rule has been relaxed.
Please take notice of your booking confirmation as this has important information as to how your appointment will proceed. Some appointments will be face to face but some will be via telephone and video link, so please ensure you check your confirmation email.
Babies born at the Milton Keynes University Hospital will be registered with us. However if the birth was at home, or elsewhere in Milton Keynes, please check that the exact location is within the Milton Keynes registration district. Births must be registered in the district where they occur but as some addresses with a Milton Keynes postcode are not included within our district it is best to check.
If you wish to register a birth in accordance with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008, or have any questions about same sex birth registrations, please email us at registrars@milton-keynes.gov.uk.
Once your appointment has been made you will be given a reference number; please keep this safe as it will be required if you wish to amend or cancel your appointment.
